Our basic dog grooming course is designed not only to instruct the student in the fine art of pet grooming but to also provide instruction in shop management. The latter prepares the graduate for the exciting and rewarding experience of owning his or her own business. It is a business that requires only a nominal investment. As well, there are other employment opportunities, such as:
Grooming Shops:
Grooming is the main function of shops. Therefore the need is tremendous.
Kennels:
In caring for customer's pets, it is only natural that kennels need qualified groomers.
Pet Shops:
An attractive pet will "sell" itself, so grooming is a must
Dog Breeding:
Professional groomers are needed by breeders to keep animals groomed to specifications of confirmation.
Grooming Vans:
This is a self-employment opportunity for the groomer who enjoys travel and rewarding challenges. It is an excellent service for elderly or disabled pet owners (a very large, untapped market)
Veterinarians:
The experience acquired by a professional groomer can be extremely valuable when applying to a College of Veterinary Medicine. Vets also have grooming facilities, which creates a need for groomers. Grooming knowledge is often required for a Veterinary Assistant position.
Professional Grooming Instructors: This is probably the most important and least occupied position in the pet grooming field. High-quality grooming schools nationwide are in dire need of professional pet grooming instructors.
